HARRISBURG – Rep. David Maloney (R-Berks) issued the following statement on Gov. Tom Wolf’s address on his 2015-16 budget proposal for Pennsylvania:
“Today we heard Gov. Wolf acknowledge that we have a school property tax problem in Pennsylvania, but unfortunately his proposed solution is to raise taxes on the middle class. We need job growth, not tax growth.
“Now, this governor mentions a bill from last session that originated in Berks County to eliminate the school property tax problem. It was encouraging to hear Mr. Wolf mention House Bill 76 by name. It would be more helpful to have his support for the Property Tax Independence Act.”
