HARRISBURG – Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) is encouraging fire companies and volunteer ambulance services throughout Pennsylvania to submit an application for the 2015-16 Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program.
Grants may be used for construction or renovation of a unit’s station, the purchase or repair of equipment, training or debt reduction. The maximum grant amount is $15,000 for fire companies and $10,000 for volunteer ambulance services. A total of $30 million will be awarded through the program.
The application period will close on Oct. 22, and the program is funded through state gaming proceeds.
Last year’s grant program awarded more than $400,000 to 35 fire and emergency medical services companies serving the 110th District.
