HARRISBURG – Rep. Jack Rader (R-Monroe) joined his colleagues today in voting to release emergency state funding to human service agencies and schools. This bill would provide four months of state aid based on House Bill 1192’s levels, and would retroactively fund some state operations from July 1 through Oct. 31.
“This is the Legislature’s third attempt at trying to fund critical state operations. We passed an on-time, balanced budget; we voted to override Gov. Wolf’s veto of line items that addressed human service funds; and most recently, we’ve voted to provide four months of emergency state funding. At this point, the ball is in Gov. Wolf’s court. I know I speak on behalf of many Pennsylvanians when I say that we are incredibly frustrated to be in our third month without a state budget.”
This bill would allow $24.3 billion in federal dollars to be released to their intended recipients. In addition, PHEAA grants and county child welfare funding would be disbursed at 50 percent.
