HARRISBURG- State Rep. Greg Rothman (R-Cumberland) released the following statement regarding today’s vote on Governor Wolf’s proposed tax increases:
“I voted against raising the personal income tax by 16% to 3.57%. This tax would affect all workers and 75% of the small businesses in the Commonwealth. I appreciate the Governor's concern for fiscal responsibility. The way to solve structural deficits is to spend less money not increase tax rates. Our budget issues are the result of spending too much, not taxing too little. It is time to get serious about pension reform and waste in government spending.”
