HARRISBURG– Rep. Jim Marshall (R-Beaver/Butler) today voted to defeat Gov. Tom Wolf’s tax increase on middle-class, working families and small businesses, and the largest severance tax in the nation.

After the vote, Marshall made the following statement:

“Now almost 100 days into the impasse, and after several attempts to provide critical funding to our children and most vulnerable citizens, it is time for the governor to move on from his tax-and-spend plan, address the state’s public pension crisis and face the economic realities that exist in Pennsylvania.

“As we move forward, I remain committed to getting a responsible budget passed as soon as possible, one that encourages job growth, gets government spending under control and that does not force middle-class families and small businesses to send more of their hard-earned money to Harrisburg.”

“There is simply not support for more taxes on hard-working Pennsylvanians.”
