HARRISBURG – Rep. Gary W. Day (R-Lehigh/Berks) announced today that Rodale Institute will be hosting an organic agriculture town hall in participation with him, Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Berks/Lehigh) and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m. The town hall will be held at the Rodale Institute’s Visitor Center, 611 Siegfriedale Road, Kutztown.
Day noted that organic agriculture is growing throughout Pennsylvania thanks to the investments made by the Commonwealth with the nation’s first farm bill. Day invites anyone seeking to learn more about the growth, expansion and opportunities within this burgeoning sector to attend the town hall and join the discussion.
“Throughout our Commonwealth and the 187th Legislative District, agriculture is a leading industry,” said Day. “The resources that Rodale Institute is able to provide to our farmers across the region is invaluable. I encourage all of those interested in hearing about the benefits of organic farming to come out to this town hall.”
