Jan. 05, 2021 / Press Release
HARRISBURG – Rep. Eric Davanzo (R-Westmoreland) has been sworn in to begin serving his first full term in the General Assembly, serving the people of the 58th Legislative District. Davanzo issued the following statement:
“I first took office in April 2020, and what a terrible time it was for the people of Pennsylvania as we were all learning to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. I was happy to step into the role as state representative at that time because there had never been a time where citizens needed their leaders more. I was, and still am, committed to my constituents and helping them in every way possible.
“During the 2021-22 Legislative Session, my priorities are to recover the Commonwealth from the pandemic. We must work to get our small businesses, restaurants and taverns the help they desperately need. I am focused on making sure our youth’s education stays on track throughout in-person, hybrid, and virtual learning. Broadband access in rural areas is a necessity for students and adults as many people continue to learn and work from home.
“I am also focused on election reform and protecting our Constitution as the past year has challenged both. I am committed to bringing trust back to the relationship between the government and its people. In addition, I will be working to improve our existing infrastructure. I am excited to get to work and recover from the past year.”
The 58th District covers part of Westmoreland County and consists of the cities of Jeannette and Monessen cities, the townships of East Huntingdon (part), Hempfield (part), Rostraver, Sewickley and South Huntingdon; and the boroughs of Adamsburg, Arona, Madison, Mount Pleasant, North Belle Vernon, Penn, Smithton, Sutersville and West Newton.
