HARRISBURG — Rep. Sheryl Delozier (R- Cumberland) today announced that School Safety and Security grants totaling $90,000 have been awarded to school districts in the 88th Legislative District.

The 17-member committee within the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency was created as part of Act 44 of 2018, a comprehensive school safety law passed in 2018. One of its duties is to help distribute both meritorious and competitive grants.

“I appreciate that West Shore and Mechanicsburg Area school districts took the time to apply for these grants,” Delozier said. “As a board member for the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, I recognize how important it is to safeguard our schools to protect our young people.”

The local grant recipients are:

• Mechanicsburg Area School District – $45,000
• West Shore School District – $45,000

The 88th Legislative District encompasses part of Cumberland County including the townships of Lower Allen and Upper Allen and the boroughs of Lemoyne, Mechanicsburg, New Cumberland, Shiremanstown and Wormleysburg.
