WHAT: Reps. Wendi Thomas (R-Bucks) and Malcolm Kenyatta (D-Philadelphia) will host a hearing of the Mental Health Caucus on mental health services in our schools.
The hearing will focus on
House Bill 1622, known as Phillip’s Law, named after a bullied 11-year-old boy from Philadelphia who took his life after he was unable to reach the school’s guidance counselor that fateful day.
WHO: Seventeen legislators from Philadelphia and the suburbs, including Reps. Meghan Schroeder (R-Bucks), Frank Farry (R-Bucks) Todd Polinchock (R-Bucks), Perry Warren (D-Bucks), Tina Davis (D-Bucks), Wendy Ullman (D-Bucks), Jason Dawkins (D-Philadelphia), Donna Bullock (D-Philadelphia), Morgan Cephas (D-Philadelphia), Joseph Hohenstein (D-Philadelphia), Michael Driscoll (D-Philadelphia) and Michael Schlossberg (D-Lehigh) will attend, while representatives from the departments of Education, Insurance and Human Services and the Office of Attorney General will testify.
