Barrar, House Committee to Vote on Bill to Protect National Guard Members
WHAT: Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware), chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will hold a committee meeting to vote on three bills:
•
House Bill 1338 would establish the Keystone Challenge Academy Fund in the State Treasury and provide for maintenance and use of the fund, as well as auditing and reporting requirements.
•
House Bill 630 would provide employment protections for Pennsylvanians who serve in a national guard or military reserve component in another state.
•
House Bill 1050 would allow military dependents to lock in their college admissions status, regarding in-state residency requirements, on the date that an enrollment deposit is made rather than on the first day of the semester or term beginning.
•
Senate Bill 128 would amend Title 51 by placing the Pennsylvania Civil Air Patrol under the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs for administrative support purposes.
