House Education Committee to Vote on Bills Pertaining to EITC Program, Graduation Credit Requirements and CPR Training
WHAT: Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Erie), chairman of the House Education Committee, will lead a voting meeting of the committee on the following bills:
• House Bill 49 (Rep. Rosemary Brown, R-Monroe/Pike): Would require public schools to allow students to apply credits earned through courses in personal financial literacy to satisfy graduation credit requirements.
• House Bill 800 (Rep. Mike Turzai, R-Allegheny): Would increase the amount of scholarship funding under the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program by $100 million (to $210 million).
• Senate Bill 115 (Sen. Tom Killion, R-Chester/Delaware): Would enhance CPR training instruction available to students in grades nine through 12.
