2/26/2015
HARRISBURG – Members of the United States Marshals Service Special Operations Group who captured murder suspect Eric Frein, were honored on the House floor this week by Rep. Mike Regan (R-York/Cumberland).

Rep. Mike Regan is shown here with members of the United States Marshals Service Special Operations Group based in Virginia. These were the men who apprehended accused murderer Eric Frein, charged with the murder of Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Bryon Dickson.

“It was a great honor to pay tribute to the members of this elite group of law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line to capture the alleged murderer of a Pennsylvania State Police Corporal,” said Regan. “The Special Operations Group is a highly trained and specialized tactical team that responds to situations deemed extraordinarily dangerous and dire. Their work deserves our gratitude.”

Regan, a former United States Marshal, said the unit was called in by Pennsylvania State Police to assist in the capture of Frein, who spent 48 days hiding in a wooded area to evade capture on charges of killing Corporal Bryon Dickson and the wounding of Trooper Alex Douglass.

The five members who were actively involved in the capture were honored on the House floor with citations and were accompanied by the director of the United States Marshals Service, Stacia Hylton, and other members of the United States Marshals Service.
