House Approves Property Tax Reform, Long Road Ahead, Maloney Says
HARRISBURG – The state House of Representatives today approved legislation (House Bill 504) that would cut property taxes for all Pennsylvanians in its first year of implementation, said state Rep. David Maloney (R-Berks).
Maloney issued the following statement regarding the legislation:
“The House of Representatives has now advanced a property tax bill to the Senate which will allow property tax elimination to be attached to it by the amendment process.
House Bill 504 has a long legislative journey still ahead of it, and it is now a legislative vehicle that allows any type of property tax reform to be attached to it, including Senate Bill 76, the Property Tax Independence Act.”
