Gregory Recipient of 2023 Ray Shaw Community Advocate Award
HARRISBURG – Last night, Rep. Jim Gregory (R-Blair) was recognized by the Blair Drug and Alcohol Partnerships with the 2023 Ray Shaw Community Advocate Award. This award is given to an individual or business/organization that actively promotes awareness and/or education to the community on the prevention of abuse and treatment for abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
“Receiving this award means so much to me,” shared Gregory. “I have dedicated much of my time and energy to helping people struggling with addiction and recovery here in the 80th District and across the Commonwealth. This award, to me, means I am fighting the good fight and making a difference in our community.”
One of Gregory’s main legislative interests is alcohol and drug addiction and recovery. Recently, his bill (House Bill 1650), that would strengthen programs for individuals recovering from substance abuse, was unanimously endorsed by the House Human Services Committee and may now be considered by the full House.
