Saccone: Wolf Tax Plan a ‘Magician’s Trick’
10/7/2015
HARRISBURG – Following the defeat of Gov. Tom Wolf’s $3.7 billion tax proposal by a vote of 127-73 in the House, Rep. Rick Saccone (R-Allegheny/Washington) issued the following statement:

“The House has turned back Gov. Tom Wolf’s job-killing, family-crushing tax hike that would have devastated Pennsylvania’s economy. The governor’s plan is a cheap magic trick, siphoning money from workers’ pockets while distracting them with false promises of property tax relief his plan would never deliver.

“The governor doesn’t inform people his plan would raise Personal Income Taxes by a whopping 16 whopping percent. Instead, he uses misleading language to make people think everything would be paid for by a severance tax. The truth is, only 5 percent of his massive tax hike would come from Marcellus drillers. The remaining 95 percent would come directly out the wallets and pocketbooks of hard-working Pennsylvanians.”
