Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee to Consider Bills Benefitting Veterans, Military Members and First Responders
WHAT: The House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, chaired by Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming), will conduct a voting meeting to consider the following proposals:
•
House Bill 1691 would establish an instant Pennsylvania lottery ticket for veterans to help fund an elderly veteran’s day care program in addition to the Veterans Trust Fund for veterans programs and benefits.
•
House Bill 1972 would establish an adult day care program to be known as “Community-Based Palliative Care” within the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
•
House Bill 2086 would provide for the authority of Pennsylvania National Guard members to operate vehicles owned or leased by the Commonwealth in response to an emergency.
•
House Bill 2097 would make permanent the COVID-19 regulatory waiver related to EMS personnel and ambulance drivers.
•
House Bill 2346 would modernize the statute governing the state armory board.
•
House Bill 2361 would provide for Women Veterans Day.
•
House Bill 2412 would allow the Pennsylvania National Guard to provide functional support for cybersecurity needs across the Commonwealth.
