First Public Hearings on Congressional Redistricting to be Held Thursday

WHAT: The House State Government Committee will kick off its series of public hearings on congressional redistricting with two hearings on Thursday. The first hearing will include a comprehensive overview of the redistricting process, and the committee will receive testimony from stakeholders during the second hearing.

WHO: House State Government Committee Chairman Seth Grove (R-York) will be joined by members of the committee, as well as experts and stakeholders such as David Thornburgh, Draw the Lines PA; Jean Handley, Fair Districts PA; Chris Fowler, director of The Peter R. Gould Center for Geography at the Pennsylvania State University; Wendy Underhill, director of elections and redistricting at the National Conference of State Legislatures; James Whitehorne, chief at the Census Redistricting and Voting Rights Data Office; as well as others.

WHEN: The first hearing will be held at 9 a.m., with the second hearing beginning at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, July 22.

WHERE: The hearing will be held in Room 205 of the Ryan Office Building, Capitol Complex, Harrisburg. Seating is limited, so attendees are encouraged to watch the hearings online.
