Sonney, Farry to Co-Host Hearing on Student Mental Health Services

WHAT:      Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Erie), chairman of the House Education Committee, and Rep. Frank Farry (R-Bucks), chairman of the House Human Services Committee, will hold a joint public hearing to receive an overview from state agencies, school entities and services providers on how they are providing mental health services to Pennsylvania’s elementary and secondary school students. 

WHO:      Sonney; Farry; members of the House Education and Human Services committees; Scott Talley, director of the Bureau of Children’s Behavior Health Services, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services at the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS); Jason de Manincor, director of the Division of Eastern Operations, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services at DHS; Dr. Titina Brown, president of the Association of School Psychologists of Pennsylvania; Nicole Hutchinson, executive director and instruction coach at Gillingham Charter School; Melissa Myers, principal at Wilkes-Barre Area School District; Charles Michael, principal at South Allegheny School District; Amy Tielemans, legislative chair of the Pennsylvania Association of Marriage and Family Therapists; Michael Hopkins, president of Children’s Service Center; Michael Quinn, CEO of Chestnut Ridge Counseling Services; Andy Kind-Rubin, chief clinical officer at Child Guidance Resource Center; and representatives of the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials.
