Sonney to Host Hearings on COVID-19 Impact on Education
WHAT: Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Erie), chairman of the House Education Committee, will hold two days of public hearings to gather information on the impact COVID-19 has had on Pennsylvania’s elementary and secondary schools, as well as institutions of higher education. The first day will focus on K-12 education with the second day on higher education.
WHO: Sonney; members of the House Education Committee; and representatives of the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Pennsylvania State Education Association, Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators, Pennsylvania Association of Intermediate Units, Pennsylvania Association of Career and Technical Administrators, Charter School Coalition, Pennsylvania Catholic Conference, Alliance of Approved Private Schools, American Federation of Teachers – PA, Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools, Philadelphia School District, Northampton Community College, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania, Temple University and Lincoln University.
