The members of the incoming Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus elected its leadership team for the 2017-18 legislative session on Tuesday in Harrisburg. Rep. Stan Saylor (R-York) has been chosen to join the leadership team as the majority chair of the House Appropriations Committee. In this role, Saylor will oversee the Commonwealth’s fiscal policy and represent House Republicans at the budget negotiation table. The new House Republican leadership team also includes: Speaker-designee Rep. Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny County), Majority Leader Rep. Dave Reed (R-Indiana County), Whip Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster), Caucus Chair Rep. Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery), Policy Committee Chair Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre, Mifflin), Caucus Administrator Rep. Kurt Masser (R- Columbia, Montour, Northumberland), and Caucus Secretary Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Armstrong, Clarion, Forest).

The 122 members of the incoming Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus today re-elected Rep. Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny County) as their choice for Speaker of the House of Representatives and Rep. Dave Reed (R-Indiana County) as Majority Leader for the 2017-2018 legislative session. The formal election for Speaker will take place in the full House when the 2017-18 legislative session begins in January. The House Republican leadership team will also include: Majority Whip - Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster); Appropriations Chairman - Rep. Stan Saylor (R-York); Caucus Chair - Rep. Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery); Policy Committee Chair - Rep.
