House Republican leaders held a press conference Wednesday in the state Capitol to call on the Pennsylvania Attorney General to investigate alleged election irregularities that occurred in the Special Election held Tuesday for 197th Legislative District in Philadelphia. Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) and Majority Leader Dave Reed (R-Indiana) were joined by House Republican leaders in calling for an investigation following reports of multiple violations of Pennsylvania’s Election Code. Majority Leader Reed said House Republicans feel ample evidence exists to justify a full and thorough state level investigation of this special election.
